Abroma augusta is a well-known medicine plant with a variety of medicinal uses. In this study we examine cholinesterase inhibitory activity as well as antioxidant activity of dried fruit extract including crude methyl extract. A. augusta also possess anti-oxidative activity but al ACHE and BuCHE inhibitory activity.

The methanolic extracts of A. arabica pods have been claimed against HIV-PR .Currently, one group of researchers has tested the antiplasmodial activity of A. nilotica ethyl acetate extract against different chloroquine resistant and sensitive strains of Plasmodium falciparum . Adhatoda vasica is considered useful in treating bronchitis, tuberculosis and other lung and bronchiole disorders. It is useful in the treatment of tuberculosis, hyperacidity, local bleeding in piles, menorrhagia. Adhatoda vasica is expectorant, diuretic, anti spasmodic and alterative. With active ingredients like vasicinone and vasicinol, adhatoda helps cough triggered by irritants and has an anti tussive effect comparable to that of codaine. With vasicine and vasicinone, the herb also inhibits allergen-triggered bronchial obstruction with an efficacy similar to that of sodium cromoglycate. One another significant function is that it can provide an anti-inflammatory effect due to its active alkaloids with a similar potency to that of hydrocortisone.

Oxygenated monoterpenes include-fenchone, cis-and trans-limonene epoxide, terpinene-4-ol, dillether characteristic component of dill seed oil, contains 5%, cis and trans-dihidrocarvone, acetate of trans carvyl, cis and trans carveoles, dihydro iso carveolcarvil dihydro isocarveol, 1-p-Menten-9-ol,– Sesquiterpenoids and other compounds present in very small quantities are: dillapiol, myristicine and β-caryophyllene. It has Antioxidants, digestive, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, detoxifying dermoprotector, intestinal antiseptic properties.
Roots of Argyreia speciosa act as a cardiotonic and hence useful in cardiac debility. It possesses emaciation properties due to which it is used in obesity. It is also prescribed for leucorrhoea, diabetes mellitus, infected wounds, syphilis, cough, bronchitis, pharyngitis and pulmonary tuberculosis. The root is used in gleet, gonorrhoea, strangury and chronic ulcers in Yunani system of medicine. In synovitis, the powdered root is given with milk. Methanol, benzene, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts of the root were found non toxic in the dose range of 100-750 mg/kg i.p. as observed during 72 hr after administration.
Aristolochia indica is a medicinal plant. It is used in India to induce vomiting and to treat poisons, intestinal parasite, swelling, menstrual irregularities, dropsy, low appetite, ulcers and fever. The roots of plant are used as antidote in scorpion sting, bites of poisonous insects and snake bite. The powdered root with honey is given for dropsy, leukoderma, tonsillitis and chronic dyspepsia. Roots contain essential oil having phenanthrene derivatives like aritolic acid, aristolochic acid, alkaloid I- curine (aristolochine), sesquiterpenoids like ishwarene, ishwarone, aristolochene, ishwarol, naphthoquinone aristolindiquinone, steriods like Beta-sitosterol, sterol glucoside and others like p-coumaric acid, d-camphor, fixed oil having glycerides and sitosterol. Whole plant contains 12-nonacosinoic acid.
Asparagus adscendens is a popular drug, and its root tubers are used for improving male sexual health. The water extract of the plant has shown similar activity and has been found to be safe. Asparagus adscendens improves the quantity and quality of semen in a statistically significant manner in healthy male adults between 20 to 40 years of age, in comparison to the placebo, when used for 12 weeks, in a dose of 500 mg b.i.d. Water extract of Asparagus adscendens does improve the serum testosterone level in a majority of volunteers
